North Shore Tramping Club
Many of you will have visited and tramped in the Shakespear Regional Park. Only just recently the club spent a day there tramping and celebrating the arrival of our new bus. As trampers we use areas such as Shakespear Regional Park so it makes sense to put something back into improving these environments.
The volunteer day is organised by the Auckland Council Park Rangers. Volunteers are advised to wear enclosed boots or shoes and weather appropriate clothing. Spades are provided. You will be rewarded at the end with a sausage sizzle, tea and coffee. The Club recently did a planting day on Motuihe. What worked well was for the able bodied to dig the holes and the less able bodied to install the plant ( gloves would be useful ) so this means we should have a big turnout of members. The planting period is from 10am to 1pm . If anyone feels like it we could go for a short tramp after! Depart: 9.00am at The Strand 9.20am at Silverdale Bus Station Organiser: Ralph Martin Mob: 022-600-5730 Cost: Nil - so suggest you also bring a friend !
