Leaving Takapuna Saturday morning 8am, driving through Waitomo to the end of Appletree Road dropping off one party. The bus carries on via Te Anga Rd to the end of Speedies Rd, park the bus and walk from here. Parties meet in the middle at Blueberry Flat Campground for the night. A tent is required. Next day both parties walk into the gorge towards Were Rd and back to Blueberry Flat where parties split up and walk out the way they have NOT come in. Sights on the way are Tawarau Falls, Double Falls and the steep limestone formations through the gorge. Back Sunday late afternoon.
Please bring plenty of drinking water due to the very high temperatures we're currently experiencing.
