Northcote / Birkenhead Urban Walk, North Shore

Come on an urban walk discovering the small reserves and byways in the Birkenhead and Northcote areas.

Meet at the car park at Little Shoal Bay at 9.00am.

Walk through Onepoto Basin and into Tuff Crater.  Past the tennis courts at Lake Road.  Up through bush to Turner Reserve, across the Northcote College playing fields (to avoid part of the track now closed because of Kauri die back) and into Kauri Glen Reserve.  On to Birkenhead War Memorial Park and then through Chatswood to stunning views over Kendall Bay.  Then head for home through Chelsea Reserve, across Hinemoa Street and down through Le Roy Bush back to Little Shoal Bay.

Depart: 9.00 am, from the car park at Little Shoal Bay Beach Reserve beside Maritime Terrace.
