Coastal Browns Bay to Devonport

We will walk along the coast towards the south, past Rothesay Bay, Murrays Bay, Mairangi Bay and so on to Devonport. We will walk around the coastal footpath at the base of North Head to Torpedo Bay and to the Devonport Ferry Wharf, the end of our walk. Next to the wharf is a bus terminal from where you can take a bus to Takapuna and Akoranga Station.

Low tide is at 11:52 so it should be possible to walk the entire route along the beaches and around the rocks. If the tide has come in too far to get around the base of North Head (high tide at 6:11 pm), there are footpaths further up the hill.

NOTE: There will be no bus on this date, you will have to make your own way to Browns Bay.

Depart: Meet at 2 Anzac Place, Browns Bay at 8.45am, we will depart at 9am. (Meet on grassed area to the left of the buildings).

This is a small carpark next to the southern end of the beach and just a short distance from the main shopping street. (There are cafes nearby, also a busy Sunday morning market to visit if you get there early).
