The stunning Tawharanui peninsula is a pest-free habitat, behind a predator proof fence, so treasured native species like Bellbirds, Whiteheads, Geckos, Takahe, Dotteralls, Blue Penguins and Kiwi and many more thrive. And if you’re lucky, you might spot seals vying for a sunny rock or frolicking in the sea. As its spring the bird life should be very active, as they zoom around between abundant nectar sources.
We'll make sure that all groups complete the tracks that usually have the most bird life.

The park has multiple tracks of varying length, but times will be flexible depending on how many photos of birds you want to take and the distance party has a new track to play with.
If the weather is nice and sunny, all parties should have plenty of time go for a swim afterwards, so make sure you bring your togs as the crystal clear water temperature is usually a few degrees warmer than the southern North Shore.

If there is rain in the preceding days to the tramp, there maybe still be a couple of muddy spots on the bush tracks.

This would be cool tramp for kids.

We will probably stop at Matakhana on the way back for one of their famed ice creams.
