Hapuakohe Northern End, Northern Waikato

A great day out, with varied bush and magnificent views to the Huntly power station, Mt Te Aroha, the Hauraki Plains and the Gulf.  

The distance party will start at the southern end of the Hapuakohe Walkway at Ohinewai Road, with an approximately 6 hour tramp through to North Road through really nice bush canopy that is predominately large Tawa, Kohekohe, Rimu and Puketea with Wood Pigeon flying around the various food sources.   The distance party require a good degree of fitness.  

After dropping the distance party off, the short and medium parties will start at the northern end and go part of the way in, taking in a few of the lookouts and bush and retrace steps for approximately 5 hours walking time.

• 8.00 am The Strand, Takapuna  
• 8.15 am Marewa Road, Greenlane.  On pavement in front of NZ Tertiary College - by the pinky tree. If you need a pickup from Greenlane, please register via the website, or let the organiser know directly
