Whether you are an experienced tramper or a novice newbie looking to join a really friendly, very well established, organised club with a huge variety of ages and tramping events and a club bus we normally use, this is the day for you! We'll have different group distances to suit various fitness as usual and a reasonable level of fitness and balance is required. We'll start very promptly at 9.30am to catch the low 2.7 metre low tide about 11.13am and we'll head along the stunning foreshore, with all the sea birds and amazing rock formations and then up and over the headland tracks and returning via Waterfall Gully. Bring your camera or camera phone for the views.
Upon returning to Army Bay we'll have a relaxed bbq and cooling swim and socialising. Please BYO your favourite bbq items and refreshments and the club will provide some sausages, sauces and bread. Please note the foreshore will be slippery and uneven. Expect to walk approximately 4.5 - 5 hours on uneven terrain. Please bring: swimming gear, ample food and cold water and day pack.
Comfortable trail shoes or running shoes you don't mind getting dirty or that are washable will be ideal. If joining us for this event, as with all tramps, please ensure that all your gear, especially footwear is scrupulously clean before and cleaned after. Please bring a clean change of footwear for after to get into good regular after tramping habits. It is bound to be a hot day, so please ensure you have plenty of food and water. Departure / Meeting point: - 9.15am to get everyone registered, we will depart at 9.30am sharp!!!
