What better way to kick start the festive season, with a tramp of a few hours in foreshore/forest tracks and a bbq after. The club will provide some sausages, bread, serviettes, sauces and the clubs bbq etc.
If you'd like something different, please bring your own meat/non-meats and refreshments and maybe bring some salads to share.
As the ground should be bone dry and we are doing a part of the stunning foreshore Te Araroa Walkway tramp where will see the most amazing rock formations, so trail shoes or running shoes with good grip will be ideal. Sea water isn't good for tramping boots.
(Please ensure all gear is totally clean, , as Alice Eaves Bush tracks have been upgraded due to Kauri Dieback).
Bring swimming gear for an after lunch swim, or before tramp if you're a keen bean. (Changing rooms, toilets etc at this park).

Fairly low tide is 8.29am.
We will move as as one group for this foreshore Christmas adventure.
Approximate elevation gain is approximately 130metres and we will cover about 12kms, of both foreshore and the gorgeous Alice Eaves forest tracks, including an extremely old Kauri, 800 years old or so, that was hit by lightening, and has just carried on growing.
The surface will be uneven, especially over the slippery foreshore. Best for people who are stable on slippery surfaces. There are a couple of climbs too.
