For the non sprinters, we take a relaxed walk and follow along the stream to the Nikau loop walk, lush with nikau palms and tree ferns. There is also a small 20 metre long cave to explore and opportunities for swimming in the streams. Grading M
The faster party will continue on along the start of the Bell track following the Blue Bill stream to visit the tallest recorded native tree in New Zealand. This track is undulating and can be muddy so a good level of fitness is required to get to there and back within the time limit. Kaniwhaniwha Cave There is a small limestone cave near the start of the Bell Track. The 20 metre long cave is easy to explore with some lovely limestone features and native wildlife. A torch is required if you want to go through the cave. Organiser: Garry - 021 269 2196 Cost - $25.00 for Members Greenlane Pickup available Ministry of Health Covid-19 Guidelines:
