Whatipu  to Huia Omanawanui Track - Waitakere Ranges

Sunday 20th March 2022

Join us and explore The Omanawanui Track from Whatipu to Huia. This epic coastal track reopened in 2021 with multiple upgrades including box steps, a new boardwalk, and a new lookout on the highest point with an amazing 360-degree view. The views are extremely impressive across the Manukau Harbour, Awhitu (South Head), the Whatipu Wetlands and the treacherous Manukau Bar and the Tasman Sea.

Commencing in Whatipu we will tramp for about 5 hours and negotiate some steep hills, and follow the undulating track along the ridge line, and then down into the valley to Huia.
