The weather gods advise all will be well in the Coromandel this weekend and there are still campsites available! Grab the opportunity to get some air in your lungs
Saturday - Sunday 18-19 June.
Bus leaves Como Street 8am
Crosbies Hut sits high in the Coromandel Ranges and offers views north along the anges and Table Mountain out to the east,as well as the evening lights of Whitianga.
This is a 10-bunk hut, and we have managed to secure 9 bunks, so first in will be first served, there are also several tent sites for those who are wanting to tent.
There are several tracks that lead up to Crosbies Hut and all tracks will have the usual offerings of hill climbs and some bog, so you will of course want a good set of boots and be of medium fitness for this one. Expect about 5 hours tramping.
If we have two drivers, we will drop a party at Collarbone Road Thames, who will take the Karaka Track up to Crosbies Hut.
The other party will start from the Whangaiterenga campsite in the Kauaeranga Valley, and head up onto the Wainora track, then onto a small section of the Karaka Track to Crosbies Hut.
Sunday 19th of June.
Both parties can do the opposite direction they came from on the Saturday before return to Takapuna.
$20 deposit payable on booking please.
