Experience the magic of Mt Te Aroha, the highest peak in the Kaimai Ranges for amazing 360 degree views of Waikato and Bay of Plenty.
The summit track starts at the Mokena Geyser in Te Aroha Domain- and quickly ascends to the Whakapipi Lookout. Here you will see panoramic views of the Hauraki Plains. The track continues through a small saddle before a 956 metre climb that gets steeper towards the top. 360 degree views across Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions, Mt Ruapehu, Mt Ngauruhoe and Mt Taranaki are all visible on a clear day. Parties to suit all with a good degree of fitness. (3 hours to the summit approximately).
Please bring warm clothing in your pack. Even if it is very warm in the township, it can be extremely cold at the summit, or it may be warm or very unpredictable. Bring plenty of water, camera, lunch, snacks, cash for refreshments,
Also bring a change of clothes, footwear, bag for dirty footwear, and towel for the bus trip back.
Depart: 8.00am The Strand, Takapuna.
Cost: $25 members, $30 non-members, $10 juniors
