LAKE TOMARATA – THE COAST, MANGAWHAI

Walking from the Lake Car Park to the coast, the track skirts around the edge of the lake and forestry plantation before exiting at the following the Poutawa Stream to the coast (a new track from the Lake to the Coast put in by the Tara Iti Golf Development).

The track along the beach is part of the Te Araroa Trail with an optional small loop track near Te Arai Point at the end of the trail. 

Toilets are at Lake Tomarata picnic area,, the Mangawahai Forestry Beach end and the Eyres Point Car park.

This is an excellent winter walk with no mud. Trail shoes will be suitable.

Depart

·         8.00 am, The Strand, Takapuna

·         8.20am Silverdale Park & Ride bus stop.  Members please register for Silverdale pick up.
