Takapuna/Devonport Explorer Loop

Meet at The Strand, Takapuna our usual Sunday pick up spot)
Leaving Takapuna we take a coastal and cliff walk to Devonport.
We will ascend 3 maunga; first North Head where you will enter a tunnel to see the disappearing gun – bring a torch!
Then over to the remains of Mt Cambria which was quarried to build Devonport.
The third and last maunga is Mt Victoria which also has a disappearing gun. From here we descend to the seaside village and head towards the green path alongside Ngataringa Bay. We will see the Celtic maze, traverse Pollys Park and head to Shoal Bay and back to Takapuna.
Trail shoes are fine.
Cost: Free to all, no bus today.
Bring your lunch, plenty of water and a torch to explore the tunnel.
