Join us to explore parts of the Bethell's Beach area that you may not have visited before, making the most of the low tide at about 1.07pm, we will have a low tide adventure around the rocks to another beach. We'll also head over to large Lake Wainamu for a swim in the fresh water lake that's surrounded by large forest and passing the massive black sand inland sand dune.
We'll explore the large awesome sea cave on the main beach too.
This is a very picturesque area and a club favourite!
You'll need reasonable fitness as we will be walking mostly on sand and there are some short sharp climbs. We'll be tramping approximately 4-5 hours on sandy surfaces and uneven rocky surfaces. Trail runners would be most suitable, or possibly running shoes.
As the forecast is sunny so those that are keen might like to partake of a swim in the lake & possibly on the beach if the conditions are suitable & the lifeguards are on duty.
If you are keen, bring a small, lightweight tramping towel, sarong to change in and a change of undies so you're not tramping back to the start wet.
As always please ensure that all your gear is very clean, footwear, bag, walking pole etc.
Please also bring a change of footwear for the bus trip back and a bag to put your dirty footwear into and please clean all your gear thoroughly when you get home as good standard practice.
