North Shore Tramping Club
Ahuroa-Puhoi Sunday 15th February 9.00am
Members please register before 6pm Saturday 14th Feburary
This walk forms part of the Te Araroa trail.
We will start at loo block carpark in historic Puhoi Village. We will head into the bushline and towards Dunns Bush Ridge track, (a Queen Elizabeth II National Trust reserve, passing the “Sugarloaf” rock formation with beautiful views across the valley and out to the coast. We will be crossing uneven farm paddocks too. Expect a variety of surfaces, some farm land paddocks, surfaces maybe slippery, uneven, muddy. Tramping boots or possibly trail runners, but you will require good grip. Expect to walk approximately 4-5 hours. Please bring a change of clean footwear and clothing for the drive home. We as passing Kauri'd areas, so please ensure your footwear is clean for the start of the tramp. Bring your eftpos car or money if you'd like a fabulous coffee at the local cafe after.
