Whether you have some experience, an experienced tramper or a novice newbie looking to join a really friendly, very well established, organised club with a huge variety of ages and tramping events and a club bus we normally use, this is the day for you!
Existing financial members it would be awesome to have you along too to help welcome our newbies.

We'll have different group distances to suit various fitness as usual and a reasonable level of fitness and balance is required, as the foreshore can be slippery and there is one point around a rocky outcrop where you will get wet feet and when we hit the parkland, there are a few short but sharp hills.

We'll start very promptly to catch the low 2.8 metre low tide about 11.07am and we'll head along the stunning foreshore, with all the sea birds and special rock formations (if we're lucky our club Geologist will be here to explain some of the formations) and then up and over the headland tracks and returning via Waterfall Gully.  Bring your camera or camera phone for the views, especially the 360 degree views from the lookout.

Upon returning to Army Bay the club will organise a relaxed, social bbq and  you can have a cooling swim.   The club will provide some sausages and non meat sausages, sauces and bread and water, juice, etc.  If you have specific dietary requirements, you may like to bring your own food wrapped in tin foil.

Please note the foreshore, although flat, can be slippery and uneven.    Expect to walk approximately 4 hours on uneven terrain.
Please bring:  swimming gear, cold water, a change of clean shoes and bag to put your shoes in for the bus trip back.
Please make sure your tramping shoes are clean as there are our precious Kauri trees in this park.

Comfortable trail running shoes would be ideal or running with grip you don't mind getting dirty or that are washable will be ideal.

There are no rubbish bins - bring your own rubbish bag (pack in-pack out).
