2 tramps! on western side of Coromandel Peninsula

Good Medium fitness required
Waiomu Kauri Grove (morning) - from Waiomu, be prepared for wet feet at the start of this return track that follows a stream through native bush before climbing to one of finest remaining kauri stands. There is a side trip option to visit the old Monowai Goldmine battery site.
Rocky's Walk to Tinker's Gully (afternoon) - from Tararu, the track climbs steeply before flattening out along a ridge with views of the Firth of Thames. From the high point it descends steeply into Tinker's Gully and passes a few old mines as it follows a small stream back to the road.
** For pickups from Greenlane pickup point please register via the site or contact the organiser
*** Please ensure your gear is fully scrubbed and cleaned ready for the day and bring a change of footwear and bag for afterwards on the bus trip back, to help protect and prevent Kauri Dieback.
Good medium fitness will be required to complete this tramp in a timely manner, avoiding delays or inconvenience to the party!

Any cancellation by the organiser will be notified by email. We don't cancel for poor weather unless it affects safety.

Environment Notes:
This area has kauri trees which must be protected by ensuring our boots, poles etc are clean before entering.
There are no rubbish bins - bring your own rubbish bag (pack in-pack out).
