WAITAWA REGIONAL PARK
Members please register for this trip by 8pm Friday 31st July
Non-members: Please phone the organiser after hours to
check suitability of the tramp.
Located 50 km from central Auckland on our southeastern coast, Waitawa is made up of three small peninsulas and fronts onto four bays. It’s a recreation park planned and developed with outdoor activities and fun in mind.
Walking, horse-riding and mountain-biking tracks have been created throughout the varied landscape on the park, in areas of former pine forest and regenerating native bush, up and down hills and through pasture.
Look out for information panels at prominent locations, special sites and interesting places that tell the story of Waitawa. With stunning views over the Firth of Thames, options to walk to the end of the Pa and Waitawa Wharf and many loop walk options to choose from, there’s something for everyone.
