MT TE AROHA – KAIMAI RANGE ⛰️
This is a full day out with our expected return around 6pm.
Ready for a proper adventure? Come and tackle Mt Te Aroha – the highest point in the Kaimai Range! This is a beautiful and rewarding day hike with a serious climb, stunning views and that “we did it!” feeling at the summit.
⛰️ THE ADVENTURE
We’ll start from the Te Aroha Domain and head straight into the climb up the Bald Spur Track, making our way to the summit of Mt Te Aroha (953m).
There’s around 900m of elevation gain, so this one will definitely get the heart pumping! ❤️ But don’t worry — the views and sense of achievement at the top make every step worthwhile.
On a clear day, we’ll be rewarded with spectacular views across the Kaimai Range, with vistas stretching towards Mt Pirongia, Mt Ruapehu and beyond.
After a well-earned breather at the summit, we’ll descend via the Tui Mine Track and Tui Domain Track, completing the loop back to the bus.
For those wanting a shorter option, there may also be the opportunity to return via the Bald Spur Track, depending on numbers.

This is a hike for people who enjoy a good challenge and a rewarding day in the outdoors. If you’re prepared to work for the views, this one is definitely worth putting your hand up for!
COME PREPARED
The summit is exposed, so bring warm and waterproof clothing even if the forecast looks great. And please bring PLENTY of water — this is a substantial climb.
Bring your hiking gear, sturdy footwear, your water bottle, your sense of adventure — and let’s get up that mountain! ⛰️
